He, he, he. I feel just like Valmont at the end of Les Liaisons Dangereuses. :P For clarity's sake, I will refer to those who use Cabe's old account as Sphenodon, even though it is difficult from one moment to the next to figure out who is actually 'playing' the account. Like there is any real difference anyway.

Well, perhaps a story before I pass on into that great good night. This all started in February with a plan to :ninja: Sphenodon's fleet. GoGo had an excellent fleet combination for the task, but not enough time to pull it off. So we swapped accounts and I started building. 1600 BC, 350 Dessies, 4000 recs, and about 50 RIPs. I was using Crunchie's nic, for a variety of reasons, and there was a plan or two, which unfortunately did not come to fruition due to some account changes and personnel changes in Purple D. among other things. In the end, Sphenodon did not take the bait, apparently because he was under the odd dellusion that D.a.r.k. and PAWNZ are allied (just as I am listed in the title as being in PAWNZ and not D.a.r.k.). And because he rarely had enough deuterium and lacked something else that is required for a real fleeter. ;)

After a month or two I got very bored and decided on a new course. So I started blowing up his moons. It started innocently enough in G8. I deleted a colony, sent a colony ship next to his planet/moon and sent RIPs. The colony was planned to arrive just after he normally went offline for the night, and in fact, it was within 15 minutes or so after he went offline. Meanwhile, I scanned every SS within 64 of my attack colony to make sure noone would be able to phalanx me. There was only a single moon, and the fleet rank suggested I'd probably be safe. Just in case, I sent 500 recs along with 18 RIPs on a 25-hour journey. As soon as they arrived, six waves of three RIPs each were sent on a 5+ hour one-way journey to immortality. Combined, the RIPs had a 64% chance to blow the moon. FAIL!

Four of the six waves were lost (46% chance per wave of RIP destruction -- lost 66.7%) and the moon survived. Despite an easy phalanx on the return, no response. :blibble: And so it was to go with almost all of the moon destructions. On the 15th wave, the G8 moon finally went.

Next stop, G1. Innocence behind me, I started to get into this whole moon-destruction thing. So I sent the RIPs back and deleted the colony, with a new colony in G1 arriving minutes later. I immediately launched RIPs on a 30+ hour trip to the new colony. I got a moon on the third attempt the following day. Sphenodon moved his fleet to the moon after my first six-wave attempt [99% chance to destroy at least one wave of RIPs, 60% chance to destroy the moon -- both survive. 8o] So I sent RIPs at his G3 moon (11-hours one-way) and he moved his fleet, then when he had logged off, I attacked and destroyed his G1 moon on the first attempt (7th overall).

On to G2! I had the bloodlust (moonlust?) now. Again, I sent RIPs back to my Main and launched a colony ship to Sphenodon's G2 SS. Got a colony after destroying the G1 colony/moon, and four moon attempts later I had a new moon. The G2 moon was quite clearly made of some RIP-resistent material. In all I hit it with 41 waves of RIPs, with a cumulative destruction chance of better than 99.5% ;( In the meantime, I sent five waves of a single RIP each at his un-gated G7 moon . . .

Actually hit the odds perfectly on that one. Roughly a one-in-three chance to lose each RIP and to destroy the moon. Destroyed the moon on the third attempt and lost a single RIP. But the G2 saga continued. I eventually got it though.

Having successfully destroyed half of Sphenodon's gated moons and more than half of the total, I decided it was time to go. Pressures of RL (Ike-ito coming in August, house-hunting, job, etc.), attrition within D.a.r.k., and general lack of enthusiasm after almost 30 months of oGame made the decision easy.

A number of plans to suicide my entire fleet into some portion or all of Sphenodons failed in much the manner of many of the moon attempts. So I eventually moved the entire fleet next to his G3 moon and launched six waves of RIPs. His fleet was on FS, but the DF around his planet disappeared at a time that made no sense. I took a nap for 70 minutes and his fleet returned, he came online, spied, launched, and crashed. Sadly, my other 18 RIPs could not partake in the battle. A fitting end to my oGame career I think. :P Look for more on the 75+ waves of RIPs that hit, and 100+ that I launched over the course of a month on http://www.darkmatters.org/

So, I hope that I have inspired a few people, taught many some tricks, and entertained everyone. I have certainly gotten my share of inspiration, entertainment, and knowledge here and hope to stay in contact with some of my friends.

Good luck to all, and Happy oGaming! And GLOTR to Sphenodon. With your moon luck, you should be able to replace them all quickly. Amusing to note that neither you nor your predecessor bother to wish others GLOTR, but then, class is not one of the thngs associated with Purple D. Another note, what does it say about Purple D.'s finest, oft-touted fleeters, if someone with 40K ships can blow up four moons (three with JG) of someone with 370K+ ships? You decide. :)

- Ike

EDIT: P.S. Profit = ~65 MM as you missed 97 MM of the DF by not immediately resending recs. :P

Woot

Finally some excitement in universe 9. A long running play. A lower ranked player plays a Don Quixote attacking windmills. And winning ! But after awhile the Windmill Spanky strikes back with a tremendous hit. The dream is dashed.
Ike does what he wants leaving D.A.R.K. ( Not Pawnz ( side note both turned me down for membership urrghhh)) and rides off into the sunset to seek more quests to conquer in other worlds.
My best wishes to all involved in this "play"

So basically, there were 3 players playing that account .. oh wait .. actually 4 during the previous month, right ?

1. noobbenodon
2. Reksio Komunista
3. Yakasu
4. Scorpion aka Kovalsky

Hmm.. interesting !!! Dunno if the GOs here have some kind of connection with those in ogame.pl ... cause if that was the case, we would have been able whether noobenodon was account sharing or not.

Btw ,.. they all play in the same alliance, that is .. A.K.

Anyway, enjoy the 67M profit ... good enough for a noob.

- For those who don't now abt it ... Ike has been doing an awesome job here .. from the All colony's hof to blowing up the rank 1's (in terms of fleet) moons ... i would say .. That's what i call an Achievement.

Future Generations Of Ogamers Will Surely Remember His Name, Cause He Is a Legend, A Living Legend .... The Legendary Ogamer Of Uni 9 !!!

ps: The best player in uni14.pl isn't Kovalsky or whatever ...

Sorry to see you go Ike, and to see you go off a hand of a noob, biggest one around.
Even when he made new top 10, something that should prove he is great fleeter, even then he actually show us more and more how big noob he is...

Ike, you will be back, right?!

Nice job on blowing Sphenos moons, it was just so cool to see it, one of the better thing in uni 9 this year...

So you decided to give him back all the res and more that you cost him by destroying the moons?:jackass:

I must say, I never expected a quality hit like this to take place with sphen/purpleD on the winning side. Guess he gets the last laugh. :)

ZOMG Ike--Awesome story. I had noticed that his G1 moon had disappeared--and wondered about it a lot.

Incredible story on your part--just sad that you didn't get to pull off the rest of your plan.

Wish you would stay. Good luck in what ever you do.

I rated this thread 10/10 becuase of Ike's story. Not the hit.
